Students attending English schools walk further than those attending French schools in Metro.

Students in Kindergarten to Grade 2 attending a French school are picked up by a bus as long as live one kilometer or more from the school. Other students attending French schools are picked up as long as they live outside a 1.5-kilometer radius.

However, students in Metro's English schools must live at least 2.4 kilometers away in order to receive bus services.

This policy has to change !

Province hopes to maintain linguistic profile and boost immigration

ST-ANTOINE - The money is on its way to New Brunswick, and provincial and federal politicians are hoping that more French-speaking immigrants will be close behind.

New Brunswick's wish to see its unique linguistic profile recognized in the immigration process by Ottawa was granted at an announcement in Saint-Antoine yesterday.

And that recognition comes with a $10-million cheque.

The money will be distributed by the province over a four-year period in a bid to bolster the numbers of French-speaking immigrants and help preserve the province's current language composition.

Dont you think we can spend our money to more worthy causes, such as; hospital care, schools..etc ?

HAS CANADA LOST ITS EQUALITY AND FAIRNESS RIGHTS!

Since when was the Canadian Constitution abolished? Canada's Official Languages Act couldn't be clearer. It states:

Did there not use to be a thing in this Country call Freedoms of Rights and Liberty!

"All Canadians, whether English-speaking or French-speaking and without regard to their ethnic origin or first language learned, have the right to benefit from the Government of Canada's commitment to ensuring that they have equal opportunities to obtain employment and advancements in all Public and federal Service institutions" .
